Overview

Thègi-vënê Bî was founded durring the early 13th century in fall of the year 1250, by Mbó̄r Cóoīs 'Erica Guild' Jó̄y Cúńnvó̄ Vúō Dyèbe. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Mbó̄r Cóoīs 'Erica Guild' Jó̄y Cúńnvó̄ Vúō Dyèbe.

Thègi-vënê Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Thègi-vënê Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Thègi-vënê Bî is buildings are arranged within a network of premissive canals streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a humble stone fence which is tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. Thègi-vënê Bî's peasent-grade are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

A look around Thègi-vënê Bî makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet town filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.

Cultural Notes

Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in Thègi-vënê Bî they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. The locals can be expected to be loyal adherents to the faith, or else the less pious majority is deeply intimidated by the religion’s believers.

Thègi-vënê Bî's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

In Thègi-vënê Bî during thunderstorms, with each flash of lightning, everyone sees different monsters from the corner of their eyes.

The Frog, Killer (3pp) near Thègi-vënê Bî are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Thègi-vënê Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 2 via throat chanting.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Thègi-vënê Bî was attacked by a slaver gang capable of fielding large forces. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Thègi-vënê Bî lost 283 people, 382 livestock, and 86 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 183, when members of Thègi-vënê Bî's militia enacted an operation to destroy a particular enemy war supplies. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Thègi-vënê Bî's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Thègi-vënê Bî's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
